Promotion Ceremony

May 26th was the last day of school.
On Tuesday, May 24, Grace's class participated in a promotion ceremony.

It was a chance to celebrate the accomplishments of the class as a whole and as individual students.

The class sang a few songs.

Awards were handed out.  Grace had perfect attendance and honor roll this year.
She also received a principal's award for honor roll during all of fourth and fifth grade.

A few students gave speeches to open and close the program.  Grace gave a speech as well.
I've tried to attach the video.
Not sure if you can understand her speech or even if you can open the link.

Mrs. Jackson was Grace's teacher this year.
She really love Mrs. Jackson.  We did too.
She was tough but very fair.  Grace learned a lot in her class.

A lot of Grace's buddies are scattering to various middle schools in the fall.
It will be sad not to see these faces together as they start the next adventure.

Summertime!

You know school is out when there isn't five minutes to be found to blog.

Maybe now that things have settled into the routine of summer chaos I can get back to keeping you updated.

Our first big adventure of the summer was a day at the zoo.

Our family growth chart....one of these days I'm going to pull all of the pictures I've taken of the kids here.

And new at the zoo this year, they now have camel rides!

The kids loved feeding the giraffe.

But Grant's favorite thing was feeding the lorakeets.  We spent thirty minutes interacting with them.

Grant is just a little bit bird crazy.
He has begged us for years to let him get a bird.

Well, it's only taken me two weeks to get a post done.
Let's see if I can get caught up now and stay caught up for the summer.
