more pool pictures coming, just not tonight!

Goodnight, folks!

Pond Making 101

start with a nice hillside containing one moss filled pond

add one trackhoe, one bulldozer and one very excited boy.........

repeatedly refuse to let the boy drive the above listed heavy equipment

kill a few trees

destroy the dam

drain the pond of all water, scum and muck

put on hipwaders and scour drained pond bottom for snapping turtles

let the overgrown boys have fun pushing dirt around for a few days

enjoy the finished product

begin praying for some serious rainfall to fill the newly formed pond

the end

Green (not black) magic

While sitting around one hot summer afternoon, Grant looked at his sister sitting beside him in her unintentionally matching clothing and said.....

Hey Grace!! Want to see me do a magic trick?
Watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat!

First, I say the magic words.....

Oh no! Where's my magic hat???

Tricked you!

OK, so it's a frog, not a rabbit.  So sue me!

Grant found another frog to play with at the farm.

He loves these things!

I think from the looks of Grant's hands that the frog might actually be cleaner than Grant here.

A  boy and his frogs...

now that's love...

though not as sweet as the love these two share.

I really don't know how they managed to dress so much alike.
They just happened to have shorts that were similar colors.  I hadn't even thought about it until Emily pointed it out to me that day.

snow cones

This summer,

the kids have been eating a lot of these.

They love them because they're loaded with sugar.

I love them because they're fast and cheap!

Everyone wins!

The grape arbor is finished.  The grapes are planted and growing.....

Strawberry beds are finished.

Kids are happily playing.....

Time to relax.

OK, time's up......

now back to work!!!!
