Paint and Foam

You know the drill....

Ready

set

go!

Grant's work looks pretty, ummmm, modern.

There is a lot of room for interpretation in his work.

But he puts a lot of creative energy (and unique facial expressions) into each work of art.

Grace has developed a more sophisticated style.

She usually paints people.

Guess who this one belongs to?

See the long flowing hair on this subject?

Personally, I like the paint tray after they're done.

I've photographed these a time or two and used them for wallpaper on my computer screen.

On to another day and another time killer.

They love this activity.

Big pans, shaving cream, fool coloring for fun

small toys or kitchen tools

and you've got yourself at least an hour of fun

Bonus:  A good smelling kitchen and kids.

If you're counting....

that would be thirteen puppies in a dog bed made for one.

I guess they were a little cold outside last night when David went down to shut them up for the night.

The last of the summer fun...

Ride 'em Grant!!

Don't you like his dirty face here?

Grace had to have her turn too.

Oh, I get tired of summer and all the craziness... but I can assure you that before April rolls around again I will be wishing for those long days of summer.

I'm glad I live in a place where all four seasons are so different.

You might be a mother if....

You've ever just stepped out of the shower then stopped to wonder if you just used your dog shampoo on your hair only to console yourself that at least there would be minimal risk of fleas and ticks for the next few days.

You've ever worn your daughter's tiny little socks found in the back seat of the car because you  realize upon arriving at her new school you've completely forgotten your own and you know her new principal has a crazy phobia of shoes with no socks (it's in the handbook)

You've ever pretended to be asleep hoping your spouse would give up pretending to be asleep on the other side of the bed in order to go take care of a crying child.

You've ever been driving to an important meeting at school when you realized you were still wearing the flip flops you put on when you fed the puppies instead of the dress shoes that you were trying to avoid smelling like puppies' poo.
You've ever pulled someone's tooth and your only payment was a toothless grin and a reminder where the tooth fairy should lay her gifts that night.

You've ever walked around the house looking for your car keys for five minutes only to have a child point out to you that you are holding them in your hand.

Feel free to add to the list.  Then I won't feel so alone in this insanity.

Six Week Pictures - a bit late

To David

Thank you for
  • nineteen years together
  • four pretty great kids (in my humble opinion)
  • lots of laughs
  • listening
  • your eternal patience (even when I don't deserve it)
  • providing for our family
  • all of the adventures I would never have been on without you
  • keeping the vows we took nineteen years (and one day) ago

I love you.

Angie

Cats on Tables and Kids in Tents

This is Grant my new kitten.
My new kitten likes to eat raisins cat food off the table.

Sometimes I think my cat looks a lot like my son Grant.

Oh the things we do to entertain at the farm.  We get pretty fancy don't we?

Now THIS is fancy entertaining.  They love to turn the bunk beds at the farm into tents.

Do you see Grace peeking out of her tent here?

Grant was in his own tent.

Yep, we're exciting.

The Daily Grind

My kids think it is great fun

to use a meat grinder.

You would think in today's world of electronics

this would seem a pretty lame for of entertainment.

Yet when the meat grinder comes out of the cabinet

they all line up to take a turn grinding.

We're exciting like that.
