Donuts with Dad

Okay, I found this tonight and have to post it.

Look at these two guys.
Have you seen either one of them?

This was taken before they left for Donuts with Dad at preschool waaaaay back in like February.
Yeah, I'm still finding pictures from back then.

Sorry!

Father's Day - Part 2

Still incredibly behind posting....

BUT we're having a lot of fun at the pool in the evenings.

Here's the finished presents in their homemade giftwrap.

Grace and Grant were very proud of their handiwork.

John and Emily didn't get to help with the painting project because that was the week they spent at camp. We actually picked them up from camp on Father's Day.

Grant was so excited for David to see the card he picked.

"SEE, DAD?"

"IT'S A GREAT BIG CARD!"

So what do you get the guy who buys most of his own toys?

He dropped some pretty good hints this year (Thank you dear!) about wanting a satellite radio that can be used in multiple vehicles.  He also got an Illini shirt with Chief on it.  He seemed pleased with the selections.  That or he's a good actor.

Well here's hoping I get caught up on pictures soon and can get back to blogging.  Having kids up late on these summer nights is cutting in to my computer time!

Father's Day........LATE

Father's Day came and went and I failed to post anything.

At least I didn't fail to ACKNOWLEDGE Father's Day to the men that counted.

Here's a look at Grant and Grace's handiwork.
They painted paper to use as wrapping paper for David's gifts.

They took this responsibility quite seriously.
I told Grant he needed to make his paper colorful.

He did.

Grace took a little more traditional approach with her creations.

Then we had a little fun making even MORE wrapping paper!

Grant quit on me after one color.  He didn't like the paint on his hand.
Go figure.

Here are their finished works of art.

More on the gifts that went into the wrapping paper in a later post.

I just wanted you to know we have not fallen off the face of the earth.
We've been traveling and playing and swimming and working.

Mostly we've been swimming.....lots of evenings at the pool trying to keep cool this summer.
That makes for great fun, but it also makes for late nights.

<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>

One piece of good news before I go to bed tonight.
John's team won the baseball tournament in the league he was playing in.

They were so excited.
They came back and beat the team that sent them into the loser's bracket......
not only did they beat them, but they had to do it twice to win the tournament.

Good job, guys!!

The team is planning a party to celebrate the big win.
It will be nice to get the boys together one more time before summer ends.

Lots more to post, but I'm going to bed tonight!

Swimmin' Hole

Who needs a pool when there's a perfectly good pond out back?
Last weekend we enjoyed our first family swim at the farm.
Well family minus Mom.....I preferred to operate the camera instead of jumping in.
I think I did enough pond swimming in my younger days.  I don't have a great need to revisit that part of my childhood.

Happy Hot June Day!!

The ducks did not stick around long when their space was invaded.  They headed for the safety of the grass.

Preparing to jump...

The dogs joined in the fun too.

Lots more pictures, but can't post them because some of the swim attire was not suited for public viewing on a blog.

*grin*
