Lazarus Shall Be Thy Name

39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.

44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

This story from the Bible was all I could think of as I heard my old Explorer rumble to life a few weeks ago.    I'm pretty spiritual like that.
With the help of a new battery and a little air in the tires, it rolled into the sunlight for the first time in many years.

And if you think Lazarus "stinketh" after four days in the tomb, you should catch a whiff of this bad boy after seven or so years in storage.  It stinketh indeed.

The mice took up residence under the hood.  Wasps selected the doors for their homes.

With a good scrubbing and a little TLC, Lazarus has come back to life.

Meet Lazarus.

My kids are thrilled to have a car smaller than a barge to drive now.  I'm thrilled my big white bus is no longer our driver's ed car.

Doesn't she look good driving Lazarus?
